I Spilled Water on My Laptop. Yeah. It’s Bad.

Wow. That has never happened before. Until now. Figures – right when things are going great with Start a Preschool, I somehow find a way to make things more difficult.
So yesterday I spilled water on my laptop. Not a lot. Just a little!
So I turned off my laptop, and waited. And waited. So afraid that if I turned it back on, I would lose everything on my computer.
You see, I’m the type of person that holds on to a computer for AGES! In this case – try 7 years. I mean – that’s a long time for a computer! My good ol’ laptop has been with me through thick & thin! It’s seen the best of times. It’s seen the worst of times. But never has it failed. Until now.
And never have I considered backing it up.
Oh no, that’s not my style. I prefer to live on the wild side – always one mistake away from disaster.
Finally, I turned on my computer again and heard (BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP)! And when I finally got it to stop beeping, then I heard ( ). Which, if you didn’t know, is silence. As in, I type a key and hear nothing, see nothing. My poor little keys are dead. But my files are safe. So it’s kind of a happy/sad day.
So I called my sweet hubby and told him the sad news. Told him that, *sigh*, “I spilled water on my laptop and now I have to buy a new one.” He laughed and told me to buy a new keyboard.
Secretly, I wished I could have gotten a new computer that would keep up with our fast internet.
But, alas, I’m running over to Walmart today to buy an external keyboard for my laptop. So don’t you worry about all my little files. They’re in there. Safe.
So come out, come out, little files…

What an adorable post! You make me laugh. I spilled coffee on my first laptop. Even though the coffee cup was BEHIND the laptop, I managed it. With a fancy flick of the spoon. The result was that there was a white line down that laptop’s screen for the rest of its life. It didn’t live long anyway, after the rest of it died off, piece by piece, it was replaced. Now I am on Laptop #5 … but I never spilled anything on a laptop after that!!! I suspect you won’t either.
