Create a Movement-Based Online Preschool – with Lisa Hyde

If you want to create a movement-based online preschool, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Lisa Hyde is a mother of 5, and she realized the power of movement for small children when she had twins. One of them was developing on track, and the other had a mobility delay that left Lisa searching everywhere for a way to help her. After realizing the power of movement in early childhood, Lisa began to teach movement classes in local daycares. During the pandemic, Lisa found herself needing to take things virtual, but she didn’t want to compromise the integrity of her program. She taught herself how to shoot and edit green screen footage, and she created an amazing movement based program that is not constrained by the laws of physics! Listen in to discover how you can create a movement-based program, too!

Lisa Hyde is passionate about movement and music in early childhood. She has run a successful local business, traveling to daycares to teach movement classes, and believes that storytelling through movement is the best way to keep children engaged. But how could she transfer her creativity and imagination over zoom without sacrificing the integrity of her program?

After finding Joy, Lisa knew that she didn’t need to conform to the standard zoom lessons that every other virtual school was offering. She wanted to harness her creativity and make something that no one else was doing!

With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Lisa has created a program that showcases her unique talents and abilities. She taught herself how to shoot and edit green screen footage, and that took her program to a whole new level!

Lisa hopes to create a space where she can not only offer online preschool classes, but where she can educate parents, teachers, and anyone else on the value of movement! As we become a more sedentary society, Lisa hopes to bring back the joys of creative movement and learning with a whole body approach! With her editing ability, she is no longer confined to a single room, she travels the world in her class, and her students have the benefit of learning in the most fun and engaging way!
