Open a Micro School in a Strip Mall – Follow Up with Sherry Stavig

If you want to open a micro school in a strip mall, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Last time we spoke with Sherry Stavig, she was running a private school for preschool-6th graders in her house. She has been going strong for 2 years now, with all spots filled, and loving it. After finding out that her school district will no longer be bussing students to school, Sherry decided that this was the perfect opportunity to expand her microschool. She found a place in a strip mall that works well for her business plan, and will be having her grand opening in just a few months! Listen in to discover how you can open a microschool in a strip mall, too!

Sherry Stavig has been running a successful microschool in her home for two years now. She has employees, and has been full for over a year. She has been thinking about expanding, but after the school district decided to stop bussing kids to school, she saw a need in the community that she could fill.

After putting in two bids on buildings, and winning both of them, she decided on the strip mall location. She is working with a design team to create a beach theme for her whole building. Her license capacity is 52 kids, so her next order of business is to get back on the marketing train!

Sherry has loved being part of The Preschool All Stars. She loves sharing her journey, and being part of a group of ladies who have the same mindset as her. She can’t wait to continue building her business with her “Sistars” by her side.

Sherry and her husband have big plans of opening 4 buildings in the next few years. As she goes, she is taking care to make sure her business plans and layout are easy to duplicate. There is a lot to get done, but she is up for the challenge. We can’t wait to see where she will be when we check in next year!
