Pros and Cons of a Non-Profit Preschool – with Jacquelyn Mudd

If you want to learn the pros and cons of a non-profit preschool, listen to today’s Preschool All Stars story: Jacquelyn Mudd was a preschool teacher until she was approached to take over the non-profit preschool she worked at. Once she took over, she realized she needed some help digging the business out of the hole they were in. But she was a teacher and didn’t know much about marketing. She was juggling all the responsibilities of teaching, directing, and dealing with the board of directors, who’s decisions weren’t always aligned with how she knew the preschool needed to be run. Then she found Joy, and learned what needed to be done to right the ship! Listen in to discover the pros and cons of  non-profit preschool!

When Jacqueline Mudd first took over the struggling non-profit preschool that she worked at, she didn’t realize how much work needed to be done to keep the business afloat. When they returned from their covid break, their preschool that was licensed for 30 kids, had just 4 enrollments!

After reading Joy’s book, Jacquelyn realized that the strategies in Joy’s book were exactly what she needed to revitalize her program and begin to rebuild. She started learning about how to utilize social media, and found that she was reaching a much broader audience with these new strategies.

With the help of Joy and the Preschool All Stars, Jacqueline was able to dig her preschool out of it’s hole. Just being able to bounce ideas off of others was huge for her. She has found so much support in with her “Sistars” and is feeling more confident in her leadership role.

Jacqulyn’s goal is to eventually break from the church that she operates under and become her own business. Right now, she is still under the umbrella of the board of directors, which she feels will free her to run things the way she wants and bring in even more students. She is working hard to fill the rest of her spots, and continues to pull from Joy’s marketing playbook to make that happen.
